Unexpected Gift

The Power of Toys

My kids received a gift from their daddy's friend who came home from the U.S. He is my youngest Godfather. It was so thoughtful of him (and his wife) to give such a surprise to my kids. I was so touch with this since I am not the kid of parent who got my kids godparents for the sake of what they can give (materially) to them. That's why for my two boys me and my  hubby have chosen our cousins and long time friends to be a part of welcoming the boys to the Christian World. These are what they got last night as a surprise.

Toys really make a kids day complete, may it be expensive or not toys will be toys for them. When I was a kid I only get toys during special occasions like my birthday, Christmas or my mom got her bonus from work. But now kids are lucky that with no occasion they can get or buy their toys. Maybe because parents now are more into toys also.  Me and my hubby really invest in our kids toys even at their younger age (months old). It is so overwhelming and you have a nice feeling when you see them appreciate what you have given them.

I have an observation with my kids that since they have alot of toys at home they don't get other kids toys without asking permission. Hindi sila nang aagaw ng toys ng iba. Although we instill in them that they should not get anything that doesn't belong to them without asking permission. Ang sarap ng feeling mo as a parent to hear that people praise your kids that they are well behaved.

Thank you Ninong Jhamir and Tita Taz Imperial for the wonderful gifts, it is indeed an early birthday present for them.

Bookworm Mommy

Since I was a kid (Grade 4 or 5) I love to read books, series books in general. I have a collection of Sweet Valley pocketbooks (kids, teens and high edition). I even swap books with my friends to cut cost in buying. Some of them I handed down to my niece so they can enjoy and to discover the fun thing about reading. So far the only series I have finished is The Chronicles of Narnia, recently my husband surprised me (last V-day) with book 5-7 of Harry Potter to complete my collection. I have books 1-10 of Series of Unfortunate Events (3 more books to collect). Now I have one Rick Roldan series book The Lightning Thief" I haven't started it yet because I am reading The 39 clues. This book is exciting. I can't imagine how a 14 year-old girl and an 11 year old boy survive life without parents and with just an au pair as a companion to every breath taking and death defying adventures they are going through.

The Emperor's Code

I am in book 8 now two more to go to finish the this book series. Then there is another series of this. Good thing I work for a school, all I have to do is borrow it from the library I saved php 400+ for each.

Now I'm blogging

First time blogger

This is my very first time to try this blogging thing. I got inspired with my friend's wife you is a very successful blogger. She just made it as if it's an every day diary entry of her  (including hubby and cutie baby) everyday life. As I start with this I want to share our excitement for an early summer vacation outside of the country. We are visiting my sister-in-law and touring Malaysia as well. The kids are overly excited as it is their first time to ride a plane.

As we count the days before the 23rd of March they really really can't help but imagine what will they do at Tita-Ninang's house when they touchdown Malaysia. Oh well this is all for today as a start.
